Anna is a dedicated staff member who has been involved with the FSU and an advocate for staff since 2015 as a Committee Member in UNGSC. She believes that the Union is the best mechanism to turn passion for defending staff rights into a tangible contribution to their wellbeing and fair treatment. Her experience in the field enabled her to understand the risks and hardship the staff endure and the need to create a better work environment for all, free of harassment and discrimination. She believes that the staff is entitled to be treated with dignity and appreciation. She admires the diversity of staff, their skills and their right to grow in a stable career. She is a strong believer in the right to job security, career development, mobility and work-life balance, safety, security and health at work.
Anna is the Finance and Budget Officer at UNGSC. She joined the UN in 1997 in the Field Service category and had served in hardship and challenging field missions such as UNMOT – Tajikistan, UNTAET-UNMISET – Timor Lester, UNAMI – Bagdad, UNSOA – Somalia as well as in peaceful duty stations in UNGSC – Italy and UNFCCC – Germany. Anna holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and M.Sc. in Corporate Finance from the University of Liverpool, UK in addition to her accounting qualifications from the Russian Federation. Her knowledge encompasses Finance, Budgeting, Program Planning, Administration and Economics.
Her experience in budgeting and program planning gives her insights to analyze new policies and formulate viable solutions to mitigate for their impact. Her financial expertise will be best employed in understanding and contributing to the improvement of the financial tools which determine the level of pay, post adjustments and other financial compensations. She is an excellent team player who believes in collaboration and collective work.
Anna is a native Russian speaker, fluent in English and has a working knowledge of German. She is 44 years old and a mother of a 12-year-old daughter.
