Our Objectives

We shall best employ our collective professional knowledge and experience as long serving staff and Executives for the best interest of the staff.

Our overarching objective is to:

• Resume addressing the well-known chronic system deficiencies in addition to the priority of addressing the new challenges emanating from the liquidity crisis and reforms.

We shall endeavor to:

• Safeguard the acquired rights of the international staff in the field through proactive engagement with stakeholders, characterized by situational awareness, political insight and persuasiveness.
• Adopt realistic, pragmatic approaches that first aim at eliminating the negative impact of organizational reforms and downsizing on careers and job security.
• Advocate for career support, including defending our roster membership, extending the priority listing for selection into future job openings.
• Advocate for fair compensation packages for staff members who are compelled to separate from the organization.
• Monitor the use of the Delegation of Authority and push for a more effective system of preventive accountability and Internal Justice.
• Foster a fair, harassment-free working environment that encourages decent and productive work, as well as smart, sustainable, and inclusive growth for all staff, regardless of gender, geography, or culture.
• Improve policies that support work/life balance for both single staff members and those with dependents and address inequities arising from the narrow definition of “family”.
• Find the optimal solutions to achieve the objectives of the organization without affecting the quality of employment or the conditions of service and reinforce the belief that the value of civil servants is more important than their cost.
• Enhance our collective power and improve collaboration with our Council, promote the FSU’s internal multi-layered mechanisms to overcome the challenges posed by the geographical dispersion of our constituency.
• Promote awareness and garner mutual support globally, through two-way communication with staff members, other unions and federations.
